2014 has been another exciting year for horse racing fans. The continued success of mobile horse racing apps has seen the industry go from strength to strength. Throughout this article we will be looking at some of the biggest news stories to strike in 2014.

AMERICA'S BEST RACING
America's Best Racing AppAmerica's Best Racing for iOS & Android
The introduction of the America’s Best Racing app from Equibase has been one of the biggest talking points throughout 2014. The app essentially allows users from the US access a huge database of races to view and find out results from a number of meetings. From the app users will be able to view information on race such as places, payouts, video replays and a results chart.  The video database of races stretches back to 2014.  Finding a particular race is surprising easy thanks to the advanced filters that let you search by jockey, racetrack, horse, trainer and race.

There have been murmurs in the industry that the app would start offering live racing from 2015 onwards, but as yet we have had no confirmation from this. One thing that we would expect to see though is rival companies looking to get a piece of this successful pie. Whilst the company still have the one-of-a-kind app at their disposal, Equibase will hopefully look to take the app to the next level and include live streaming. The app can be downloaded from both iTunes and the Google Play store free of charge.

The mobile sector is one that has continued to grow in the industry and there are very few bookmakers these days that don’t have successful mobile betting apps to accompany their online portfolio. The UK has been one of the world’s hot beds for horse racing for a number of decades now. The sheer volume of meetings held every day puts the majority of country’s to shame. Not only are there a plentiful amount of races taking place the coverage is also excellent.

The introduction of smartphones and tablet devices has meant the way in which we watch, bet and research horse racing has totally changed. Gone are the days of having to buy a local newspaper every morning to check the runners and riders or purchase a copy of the Racing Post to get some of the latest tips. These days, all that information is available from just the click of a button on your mobile device. It also means that this information is available on the move, so there are potentially no limitations to when or where you will be able to get a hold of your required information.

Best Horse Racing Apps for Major U.S. Races

United States Horse Racing
Horse racing in the US is definitely a market that’s still developing, especially when you compare it to say the UK or even Australia. The UK has pretty much always had the monopoly over the US, but Australia has definitely been a country which has leap frogged them. Whilst this isn’t necessarily because the US market has declined, it’s more that the rate of inflation has been much lower than that of its competitors.

That being said, the US still provide a massively healthy horse racing market and include some huge meetings of which prize money is as big as anywhere in the world. The mobile market is one that’s slowly starting to catch on in the US although it would appear that still bookmakers are reluctant to give the sport too much exposure, especially via their mobile apps. However, there is still a good range of apps and tools that can be sued on your mobile and target that of US horse racing.

Benefits of Betting Exchange Apps in Racing

7/3/2013

Betting exchanges have revolutionised the way in which the modern day bettor bets. They have essentially allowed them to become their own bookmaker – if they so choose – whilst also giving them the option of placing bets as they would with a traditional bookmaker.

The main difference comes in the form of not actually betting against a bookmaker or even exchange for that matter. Instead bettors are placing bets against other bettors in a person to person transfer. This means that the bettor is actually setting their own line and then another person chooses to either take that bet or alternatively lay that bet.
